1. Sleep Inertia.
Sleep inertia, a physiological state, is not good in the morning although it is good in the middle of the night. When a visit to the bathroom or a strange noise interrupts your sleep, you can fall back asleep because of sleep inertia. Unfortunately, sleep inertia lures you back to sleep in the morning. When the alarm sounds its first beep, you had better quickly stretch, drink water or take shower.
2. Light up your morning.
Morning light is probably the most important thing for you. You can get up and get out, and send your body a wake up and enjoy the day message. Open up your morning light.
3. Bribes work.
What should you do since you don’t want to get up and run or even take a walk in the backyard? Stop eating breakfast at your favorite café or an indulgent latte! In order to jump out and get going, you can give yourself a reward. You might meet your early bird friends at the café.
4. Exercise in the morning.
You are suggested to exercise in the morning if you like doing your exercise a regular. Exercising in the morning not only wakes you up but also gets you moving. It is a good step towards both better health, converting yourself into a morning person.
5. Enjoy the morning.
Avoid starting your day with hustle and bustle. Set aside some time for yourself in the morning. Do something you enjoy like starting the crossword puzzle in the local paper or meeting a friend. Try enjoying the morning even if you don’t think it is your thing. Give yourself permission to do what you enjoy. Give yourself the morning time to enjoy it before the day gets underway.
Getting a good night’s sleep is another great way to become a morning person. Turn off all your screens. Make your bedroom a haven for sleep. Prepare a good, supportive mattress.
