Kdy\u017e se modern\u00ed, p\u0159il\u00e9hav\u00e1 verze \u0161at\u016f stala ve 20. letech 20. stolet\u00ed popul\u00e1rn\u00ed v \u0160anghaji, roz\u0161\u00ed\u0159ila se do ji\u017en\u00ed \u010c\u00edny, v\u010detn\u011b kantonsky mluv\u00edc\u00edch oblast\u00ed jako Hongkong. Vzd\u011blan\u00e9 \u017eeny, intelektu\u00e1lov\u00e9 a studenti za\u010dali hledat nov\u00fd styl obl\u00e9k\u00e1n\u00ed, kter\u00fd by byl z\u00e1rove\u0148 \u010d\u00ednsk\u00fd a modern\u00ed, a odm\u00edtali t\u011b\u017ekop\u00e1dn\u00e9 \u0161aty z c\u00edsa\u0159sk\u00e9 \u00e9ry.<\/p>\n<p>Zpo\u010d\u00e1tku, na konci 10. a na po\u010d\u00e1tku 20. let 20. stolet\u00ed, se objevil p\u0159echodn\u00fd od\u011bv. \u0160lo o voln\u011bj\u0161\u00ed, zvonovitou verzi \u010dchongsamu, \u010dasto no\u0161enou p\u0159es kalhoty, p\u0159ipom\u00ednaj\u00edc\u00ed mu\u017esk\u00e9 \u010dchang-pchao, ale s \u0161ir\u0161\u00edmi ruk\u00e1vy a dekorativn\u00edmi prvky. Pod vlivem z\u00e1padn\u00edho krej\u010dovstv\u00ed a \u00fazk\u00fdch, vertik\u00e1ln\u00edch lini\u00ed \u0161at\u016f flapper ze 20. let 20. stolet\u00ed se \u010dchongsam za\u010dal rychle vyv\u00edjet. Krej\u010d\u00ed za\u010dali za\u010dle\u0148ovat \u0161ipky a pou\u017e\u00edvat sofistikovan\u011bj\u0161\u00ed st\u0159ihov\u00e9 techniky, aby vytvo\u0159ili \u0161aty, kter\u00e9 kop\u00edrovaly k\u0159ivky \u017eensk\u00e9ho t\u011bla. M\u011bsto bylo tav\u00edc\u00edm kotl\u00edkem v\u00fdchodn\u00edch a z\u00e1padn\u00edch kultur a jeho m\u00f3dn\u00ed sc\u00e9na byla \u017eiv\u00e1 a inovativn\u00ed. \u010cchongsam se stal pl\u00e1tnem, na kter\u00e9 se malovala n\u00e1dhera t\u00e9 doby.<\/p>\n<p>B\u011bhem tohoto obdob\u00ed se silueta stala je\u0161t\u011b odv\u00e1\u017en\u011bji p\u0159il\u00e9havou, zd\u016fraz\u0148uj\u00edc\u00ed pas a boky.
