How Is Silk Obtained From Silkworm

How is silk made from silkworm?

Silkworms spew fibroin through their spinnerets, and fibroin contains digested leaves as well as protein produced by the worm. Silkworms spend 72 hours producing up 1200 silken threads to create a soft, silver cocoon. Silk farmers harvest silk by treating cocoons with steam or boiling water. Then, spin and weave the delicate fibers into silk fabrics.
