What Does 600 Thread Count Mean

Thread count refers to the thread count woven together in one square inch of fabric. A 600 thread count bed sheet could be achieved in many different ways. For instance, manufactures can twist multiple threads together, or select a finer thread. When it comes to 600 thread count, most people would assume that they could count a total of 600 threads per square inch. However, in fact, manufactures inflate their threads using two-ply yarn or multiple-ply yarn to achieve that 600 thread count bed sheet. In other words, 600 thread count sheet could actually be 300 two-ply, or 200 three-ply.
