Many people like using duvet in cold winter because this duvet- filled with down feathers- is so warm. Conversely, they will compress duvets and store them in hot summer. However, how to store duvet without bringing any damage?
It is recommended to store duvet in a cotton bag or large cotton pillowcase, for down feathers need some airflow during storage.
Do not store duvet in plastic bag unless your duvet is made from synthetic materials.
- Fold duvet and press it to reduce its volume.
- Place the folded duvet in your cotton bag or large cotton pillowcase, and then pull the drawstring or fold the top of the bag closed.
- Place your bag containing duvet in a dry location.
- Never place it in damp places for mildew can easily ruin a down comforter.
If you are ready to use your duvet, remove it from its bag. Then, hold its top corners and shake it out to fluff the down feathers. Finally, put it back on your bed.
Duvets should only be washed if absolutely necessary.
It is recommended to use a duvet cover to protect your duvet. Thus, you can easily wash the duvet cover instead of the duvet.
